A bit about me...
My name is Sophie Kosar, and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have the best job in the world, which is to be a teammate and facilitator in your journey through life, relationships, and change.

I decided to become a therapist when I was working in retail management. I had a degree that lent itself to government work, which I didn't want to do, and I had grown up in a family filled with designers, copyeditors, teachers, and writers. I had no idea that the psychology field was something that could ever overlap with my life.
So amidst the existential dread of my 20s I found myself selling skincare and perfume. I knew that I really, really hated cosmetics sales, but I was also really, really moved by the number of customers who would come in and spill their entire life story because they could tell it was a safe space. I knew this was the best part of my job, and knew that I wanted to do more of it, but I also knew I wanted to be able to help in a meaningful and ethical way—and that at the time, I didn't know how. Thus started my journey to becoming a psychotherapist.

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I’ve provided psychotherapy in both agency and private practice settings with couples, families, and individual adults, teenagers, and kids. When I’m not working, I love sewing, dancing and fitness, cuddling the family dogs, and playing Smash Brothers with my husband and kids.
