We're not located in Virginia. Can we still use your services?
I can currently only see clients who are physically located in Virginia due to state licensing laws. That means you can either come to see me in person, or you must be accessing virtual sessions from a location in VA.
However, I'm currently working on getting licensed in Maryland and DC, so stay tuned! I'm really looking forward to being able to offer virtual services to the rest of the DMV.

Why do you do packages for premarital counseling / relationship tune-ups instead of individual sessions?
Great question! After years of practicing psychotherapy I've found that folks tend to get busy and deprioritize self-work unless there is structure and accountability in place. This is especially true for couples, where you're balancing not one, but two people's busy schedules (and frankly sometimes fluctuating motivation). This is even more important if you're trying to get the most value out of a short-term service like premarital counseling or a relationship tune-up.
Now, if we have a session and you decide we're not a good fit? I won't ever hold you hostage! Common factors research (aka studies on "what makes good therapy.. well, good therapy") has shown over and over that the relationship between client and therapist is the most important part of the work. I'm always happy to provide referrals to other clinicians who can better meet your needs.
